CASTORLAND – A Lewis County man has been charged with aggravated assault in beating another man with a baseball bat.
State police said Scott A. Danforth, 50, of Castorland, was fighting a 31-year-old man on May 30. Troops said Danforth hit the other man several times with a bat, and the victim sustained several bone fractures and an eye injury.
Danforth was charged on Tuesday with each count of first-degree assault, a Class B crime and third-degree possession of a weapon, a Class D crime, authorities said. He was tried and sent to prison without bail.
