SACRAMENTO, California (KTXL) – A new state-of-the-art sports complex is scheduled to be built in the Del Paso Heights area of Sacramento.
Thanks to a partnership between the city of Sacramento and the non-profit organization Del Paso Heights, Mutual Assistance Network, Robertson Park will soon undergo a revitalization that includes the new sports complex.
Two new baseball courts will be built on land near the park, and the project will include an update of the existing field in the park.
Project managers say that the project will create a regional attraction to the neighborhood and become a catalyst for economic growth.
– Being able to see something develop for the neighborhood – something that benefits the residents – is fantastic. Robertson Park needed many upgrades. It needed a little love, so rehabilitation of the existing field makes it playable, makes it a nice field, and that’s what our neighborhood deserves, “said Mutual Assistance Network CEO Danielle Lawrence.
The sports facility will also include updated futsal courts, new concrete walkways and expansion of the car park.
Leaders will host a cutting ceremony in the park on Monday where they will share representations of what the future site will look like.
