Havana, May 17, (RHC). – The president of the Cuban Baseball Federation, Higinio Vélez and Juan Francisco Puello, recently re-elected president of the Caribbean Baseball Federation, discussed the possibility of Cuba’s registration in this regional organization.
The Cuban Baseball Federation and the Caribbean Professional Baseball Federation have been working towards this goal for some time, which will allow Cuba to enjoy the same rights as other countries in the region.
The North American confederation that governs the Caribbean organization has long prevented entry into Cuba due to the blockade.
The possibility of Cuba’s membership was raised in a conversation Higinio Vélez had with Juan Francisco Puello shortly after he was re-elected leader of the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation.
