Ohio Baseball adds four to the list during the early signing period

ATHENS, Ohio– The Ohio baseball team adds four new student athletes to the list during the early signing period. Head coach Craig Moore announced today (November 10) that Billy Adams, Gideon Antle, Tyler Minneci and Carter Sabol will join the Bobcats for the 2022-23 season.

“We are extremely pleased with the addition of these four individuals to Ohio University and the Bobcat family,” said Moore. “This is a talented group and we think there are more who will step in right away and play big roles for us in the 2023 season.”

Billy adams (Medina, Ohio) plays baseball for St. Ignatius High School and has received two college degrees with the team. He was named offensive and defensive player of the year in the St. Ignatius baseball team in 2021. Adams has also played for the Lake Eerie WarHawks since 2017. Adam’s favorite team is the Atlanta Braves.

Adams has two brothers, Kyle and Jeremy, and a sister, Makensie. He plans to study sports management while in Ohio.

Gideon Antle (Licking, Mo.) played baseball at Jefferson College for the 2020-21 season, where he attended the First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Region. Prior to his time at Jefferson, Antle earned four baseball and one basketball degrees at Licking High School. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and playing video games.

Antle is the son of Harvey and Amy Antle and has three brothers: Samuel, Malachi and Silas. He will study physical activity and sports coaching and hopes to play baseball professionally or practice college baseball.

Tyler minneci (Wake Forest, NC) has played baseball for Cardinal Gibbons High School and Crossroads Flex High School and is currently attending Pro5 Baseball Academy. While at Cardinal Gibbons, Minneci was named the 2019 best student athlete, received two university certificates for baseball and did the Honor Roll from 2018-2020. His favorite band is Rush and he owns 12 guitars.

Minneci is the son of Carl and Kristin Minneci; he expects to take a major in premedicine with the goal of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

Carter Sabol (Nokomis, Ill.) Played baseball at Lake Land College and Nokomis High School, earning four college degrees in both basketball and baseball while attending Nokomis High School. Sabol was named the All-State First Team in 2018 and the All-State Second Team in 2019 for baseball while doing the All-State Honorable Mention in 2018, the All-State Second Team in 2019 and the All-State First Team in 2020 for basketball. His favorite team is the Los Angeles Angels.

Sabol is the son of John and Erin Sabol and has three siblings: Brayden, Audrey and Alivia. He intends to take a major in business.
