A man from Bois Forte has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after attacking a man with a baseball bat.
Marshall Wayne Boshey, 20, was convicted in U.S. District Court on Friday.
On May 31, 2020, Boshey attacked a man outside his home in the Bois Forte reserve by hitting him on the head and upper body with a baseball bat. Boshey also cut the victim with a pocket knife, according to court documents.
The victim had to be hospitalized, and required 11 pins in the scalp, 20 sutures on the left ear, three sutures on the left elbow and six sutures on the left hand.
Boshey had pleaded guilty in one case of assault with a dangerous weapon in July.
He was sentenced to 30 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release.
