On Thursday 28 October, the neighbors of Robert-Vain Stadium must have wondered for a moment if they had not moved from Dieppe to the USA during the night.
For once, the lawn at Neuville-lès-Dieppe Stadium was not occupied by the Duke’s rugby players or a few amateur footballers, but by Sharks, the baseball team in Dieppe.
We do practice with the young people in the team.
Make the discipline known
The 19-year-old is the new Sharks coach.
He replaces Benoît Piquet, the founder of the club who wants to take a step back from the role of president and coach.
I’ve been playing baseball for ten years, and I’m going to take over. In this adventure I am accompanied by Hugo Lanchon-Dumoutier.
Today, the Sharks are counting only eight licensees.
The goal is obviously to make the discipline known in the city by the four ports and why not recruit a few players.
Anyone, even beginners can come. We learn to play without problems. Training takes place at Robert-Vain Stadium every Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00.
There is no equipment to buy, everything is delivered first.
“The boys can come with a shell, but it can be useful,” Gabriel Lamouroux still smiles.
The Dieppe club can count on the support of Rouen’s big brother, Rouen Huskies, champion in France last year.
Baseball is still a confidential sport and a club like ours has a duty to help others grow.
These Huskies players were present at Robert-Vain on October 28 to lend a hand with youth from Dieppe. Promises well for the future.
