More than one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed at Major League Baseball stadiums, and Oakland Coliseum and Marlins Park plan to continue to do so even after the first day of the regular schedule.
The 11 stadiums that were turned into mass vaccination sites during the season exceeded the threshold of one million doses, Major League Baseball reported on Friday. The regular season is scheduled to start next Thursday. Dodger Stadium, Yankee Stadium, Citi Field and PNC Park will continue to offer doses after the first day of the regular schedule, which will not be the case for Minute Maid Park and Petco Park. The Colorado Rockies are currently trying to determine if Coors Field can continue to do so.
Fenway Park and Globe Life Field have also been used for mass vaccination. Earlier this week, Major Baseball teamed up with other major North American circuits to promote a new “It’s Up To You” campaign, featuring Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout and the New Mets.
