The Callaway and Troup baseball teams took a test drive on Wednesday.
With the regular season set to begin next week, Callaway and Troup played preseason scrimmages on Wednesday at home.
Both matches were to be played later in the week, but they were pushed up to Wednesday to avoid possible bad weather.
At Callaway, it was a successful day for the home team, which beat Northgate 7-5.
It was also a winning day for Troup, who beat Woodward Academy 7-3.
It was the debut of Tanner Glisson as the Troups head coach, who has taken over from Craig Garner, who is now at Northside-Columbus.
Callaway and Troup starts playing on real Monday.
While Callaway hosts Manchester, Troup plays a double head at Northgate.
LaGrange Grangers, who do not play a preseason game, open the season with a home game against Northside-Columbus on February 2. 18.
