Canada escaped first place in their group in the Olympic qualifying tournament with a 5-0 loss to Venezuela on Wednesday.
Venezuela thus ends this part of the competition at the top of Group B with three victories in as many expulsions. Canada follows in the second tier with a 2-1 record that makes it possible to enter the qualifying super round. He meets the United States on Friday.
The Dominican Republic will face Venezuela in the second clash. Canada has two games left to try to keep hope for the Olympics in Tokyo.
Each club will play two super-round matches, and it is the cumulative plates that will decide the big winner.
The winner of the Americas Zone Tournament will be world No. 1 in Japan, as well as Korea (No. 3), Mexico (No. 5) and Israel (No. 18) at the upcoming Summer Games.
The second and third national elections will have a chance to resume in another qualifier (last qualifier) involving Taiwan, the Netherlands and Australia.
