PHILADELPHIA — What’s red and green all over? The Philly Phanatic dressed up as Phanta Claus of course!
The Philadelphia Phillies rang in the holidays the weekend of Dec. 10-11, giving fans a chance to come out to the ballpark for special deals on merchandise and guest appearances.
The event also kicked off the Phillies’ 12 Days of Christmas specials and food drive, which runs up until Christmas Eve, December 24.
Visitors to Citizens Bank Park were asked to help the needy by bringing canned foods items to the clubhouse store, benefiting Philabundance. Last year’s event raised thousands of canned food items for the organization, which is the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization.
The two-day event was highlighted by tree and ballpark lighting ceremony with Phillies manager Charlie Manuel and pitcher Vance Worley Saturday night.
Fans also had the opportunity to purchase specially-priced ticket packages, memorabilia, and other holiday-related items.
