CONCORDIA – As extremely cold temperatures continue to cause problems across much of the United States, Cloud County Community College baseball and softball programs have announced schedule changes for the remainder of this week.
For the second time this season, the T-Bird softball team has seen its planned season opener canceled as Thursday’s home game against the Ottawa University JV team has been canceled. At the moment there is no plan to schedule the games with the Braves, but there is potential for games to be added to the schedule to replace the lost games as the schedule allows later in the spring. With the cancellation, it is now expected that the CCCC will see that the campaign in 2021 begins in February. 25 with a home game double header against the Bethany College JV team as long as the weather allows.
The Cloud County baseball team has seen a number of changes to this weekend’s schedule at the University of Central Oklahoma JUCO Festival as a number of teams have dropped out due to cold and uncertainty about potentially more adverse weather. As things currently stand, Cloud County is now scheduled to play on Sunday, February 21 with a contest at. 11.30 against Labette Community College before taking on nationally ranked Crowder College at take the place of CCCC’s Sunday game against Coffeyville which has been canceled. Should the Edmond, Oklahoma area receive more snow between now and this weekend, the entire festival is expected to be canceled.
