MLB: The Red Sox defeated the Nationals to stay ahead of the Blue Jays in the standings

The Boston Red Sox stayed ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays in the playoffs for the American with a 4-2 victory on Friday ahead of the Washington Nationals.

The Red Sox thus retain their priority on one game over Blue Jays who defeated the Orioles in the evening. They are 90-70 against 89-71 for the Toronto list. The Seattle Mariners are also a game behind the Red Sox after their loss to the angels.

Eduardo Rodriguez broke a stalemate in the fourth round. Although there were three runners on the slopes and no outs, the Red Sox pitcher struck the next three strokes to keep the score 0-0.

His teammate Hunter Renfroe thanked him in the sixth round with a home run that gave the Red Sox a 3-0 lead. It was his 31st long ball of the season. Bobby Dalbec added his own forward moments later with a solo shot to take the score to 4-0.

Alcides Escobar and Jordy Mercer reduced the Sox’s lead to two points with each of the long balls.

Hansel Robles was given the task of closing the books in the ninth round for the Sox. After allowing two runners to hit the slopes, the relief ended the match by forcing Keiber Ruiz to kick a right field ball that was grabbed for the last out of the collision.

Dodgers can have hope

The Los Angeles Dodgers won 8-6 over the Milwaukee Brewers to hold two games behind the San Francisco Giants and the National West lead.

LA can therefore still hope to join the Giants and get the leader of the section.

Trea Turner gave Brewers throws a tough night, producing five runs and hitting two hits. He first hit a solo homerun in the first round.

Then in the 5th half, when the Dodgers were behind with four points, Turner tied them all with a big slam to the left.

The Dodgers added three runs in the 7th round and managed to close the books.

LA victory, however, was ruined by the withdrawal of Clayton Kershaw quickly, who quit after a lap and two-thirds with discomfort in his left arm. He had conceded five hits and three earned races.

Eight shooters were in the fight for the Dodgers.
