Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. had to be discarded off the field on Saturday after maintaining what appears to be an injury to his right leg while trying to take a dive.
The game took place very close to the warning track during a game between the Braves and Miami Marlins.
The 23-year-old Acuna was selected as a starter kit for the All-Star Game, which takes place in Colorado on Tuesday.
He kicked hard against the fence before falling to the ground and immediately kept on his right knee while hitter Jazz Chisholm made his way to the home plate on an inside homerun.
Acuna tried to leave the field alone, but the healers stopped him halfway to shelter the family. A carriage was called, and a few of his teammates surrounded him.
Visible emotionally and in pain, and Acuna did not emphasize the right leg afterwards.
The outfielder hit .281 with 24 home runs and 52 RBIs this season for Atlanta.
This is his third All-Star selection.
The Braves won the match further with a score of 5-4, thanks in part to the 19th home run for first baseman Freddie Freeman this season.
