MLB: Former Mets General Manager receives major baseball sanctions

Major Baseball has indicated that former New York Mets general manager Jared Porter will end up on the list of exclusions that will keep him on the sidelines at least until the end of the 2022 season.

The decision announced in a press release by Commissioner Rob Manfred stems from the investigation into Porter’s inappropriate behavior as he was with the Chicago Cubs in 2016.

At the time, he is said to have exchanged sexually explicit text messages with a reporter. Shortly after this information was revealed in a report from ESPN In January, Mets owner Steve Cohen fired Porter, who was the team’s general manager.

Porter had previously worked with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
