Late registrations accepted for City Rec Baseball | News, sports, jobs

City Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department will accept registrations for the City Recreation Youth Baseball League until Tuesday.

Registration will be held at the Parks, Recreation & Conservation Department office at 115 E. Fairmount Ave. in Jamestown this Saturday from 12 to 14 and Tuesday from kl. 17-18. The program is open to boys and girls aged 7-12. Children 7 years old are only allowed to play in the field.

City residents must pay a $ 5 registration fee per child. Non-city residents must pay a $ 15 registration fee per child. All children who register must provide proof of age. Children who have played in the program in previous years must still sign up and pay the registration fee. The application for financial assistance is available on the city’s website at or at the Jamestown Parks & Recreation office at 145 Steele St. during normal business hours.

See CITY REC, Page B2

The application must be submitted when the child registers. The age date is April 30, 2021. No matter which player’s age is before or April 30, 2021 is the player’s league age for the 2021 season. This playing age rule matches the one adopted by Babe Ruth Baseball.

While present, please follow all local guidelines and NYS COVID guidelines. Call the recreation office at 483-7523 with questions.
