The Academy of Baseball of Canada (ABC), which coaches some of the best baseball prospects in Quebec, announced that they had added Pistolois Frédérick Rioux to the coaching staff on Tuesday, November 10th.
Rioux, who has worked for the Seattle Mariners organization in recent years, joins the ABC team as a technology consultant. He will join Marc-Antoine Bérubé, another Pistolois, already participating in the development of the next generation of Quebecers.
“It’s a return to Quebec land for me. I had the chance to travel through America through the mandates given to me by the sailors, and now to be able to take this baggage of experience to help the hopeful Quebec is a great challenge for me. I want to thank the people from Baseball Quebec and the Canadian Baseball Academy for trusting me, “said the main character on the ABC website.
Just over a year ago, Frédérick Rioux held the title of assistant in international recruitment and IT for the organization of Seattle Mariners. He acquired knowledge of technologies that enabled the evaluation of launch vehicles with firing speed and the trajectory of the ball, for example.
“For the Canadian Baseball Academy to become a state-of-the-art academy for high performance, we must reach the forefront of technology as quickly as possible. Fred has developed a great deal of expertise in the use and analysis of the data provided by these various technologies in the Seattle Mariners’ organization in recent years. We will therefore be able to get the most out of it for our athletes, ”said Maxime Lamarche, general manager of Baseball Québec, head of the Baseball Academy of Canada.
According to ABC, the recruitment of Frédérick Rioux, as well as two nutritionists, demonstrates the seriousness of always doing better in Quebec’s high performance. “All that remains is permission for players to jump on the court and resume baseball activities,” the management said.
