Humboldt Crabs, Arcata’s beloved collegiate summer baseball team that often pushes players on to the pros, has planned games in the hope that they will be able to return strong in 2021.

Their 2020 season, which would have been the 76th year in a row with Crabs baseball, was tracked by the pandemic.

“(Online) streaming is something we look at,” Crabs Board President David Sharp told Humboldt last week. “The fan experience is crucial to our success. What that experience will look like in June and July is unclear, but we look at all aspects from ticketing to distancing to concessions and everything in between, with an emphasis on security. ”

Go Crabs! If you listen carefully enough, you can almost hear the Crab Grass Band playing a festive tune.
