Regardless of the outcome of the game to be played between Canada and Venezuela on Wednesday, these two countries take the first two places in Group B, while Cuba and Colombia suffer elimination.
The United States, for its part, is relegated from Group A along with the Dominican Republic or Nicaragua, depending on the outcome of the duel scheduled for Wednesday between the two nations.
For Cuba, this is the first time the baseball team has been absent from the Olympic tournament since the discipline’s first appearance in 1992 as a medal-winning sport.
After a day off on Thursday, the “super round” starts the next day, still in Florida.
