The preseason awards for LSU junior pitcher Jaden Hill continue to roll in.
On Monday, Baseball named America Hill an All-American first team for 2021. Hill has already received similar awards from Collegiate Baseball, Perfect Game and D1 Baseball.
The 6-foot 4, 233-pound jug from Ashdown, Arkansas, appeared in four games during the COVID-shortened 2020 season. He hit 11.2 innings, allowing only one hit, no runs, struck out 17 strokes and recorded two saves.
Opposing players were only 1-36 against Hill last season, averaging 0.028.
Sure, it was a small sample size, but a clear indication of Hill’s dominance on the mound.
Hill missed the 2019 season with elbow injuries. He returned in 2020 in a relief role where he dominated. In Hill’s first appearance against Indiana, he hit two pointless rounds, and struck out three.
Hill is scheduled to be LSU’s No. 1 weekend starter this season. A season that begins on Feb. 19 when the Tigers host the Air Force at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
