Alternative Baseball: League for players with special needs watching the Grand Junction team

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo – A baseball program for people with special needs looking to expand into Grand Junction.

The alternative baseball organization offers teenagers aged 15 and older an opportunity to participate in baseball matches in wood, just like the pros. ABO uses Major League Baseball rules, with one exception: a larger and softer ball.

The league started with two teams playing in the suburbs of Atlanta and has used up to 80 teams across 30 states, including teams in Colorado Springs and Albuquerque. Anyone interested in playing or exercising is encouraged to check the organizations’ website. Player interests and trains forms of interest can be filled out online.

ABO needs 12 players to start a team.
