Growing up, I was never a big fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins. For one, I was an Edmonton Oilers fan. For two, I had a friend who loved the Penguins and had no problem telling you that; over and over again. For three, my buddy Dave used to light me up in the NHL 93, 94, 95 and so on video game series, using, most notably, the Pittsburgh Penguins. But, even though I wasn’t a big fan, I always loved Jaromir Jagr. How could you not? First of all, the guy has one of the coolest names ever created, not to mention, he totally rocked the mullet back in the day.
This afternoon, Jagr became just the 7th player in NHL history to net 700 goals, as his New Jersey Devils spanked the Islanders, 6-1.
Here’s to Jaromir’s Hall of Fame career and today’s milestone. We tip our caps to you. Congratulations. I’m off to text Dave now.
