Carlos Beltran has had a 2013 to remember. He has reached his first World Series after 16 years in the major leagues, and before Game Three, he was awarded the 2013 Roberto Clemente Award for his work in St. Louis and in his native Puerto Rico.
The Carlos Beltran Foundation strives to provide a learning experience where young people can develop and enhance their athletic gifts and excel academically. As part of the Foundation’s efforts, the Beltrans opened the Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy in Puerto Rico, a facility that teaches baseball while focusing on each student’s education to provide a well-rounded athlete and student. Clemente’s grandson, Roberto Antonio, is a student at the facility.
