New England Patriots players not only have moves on the field, but showed several lucky students in Millford, Massachusetts that they have moves on the dance floor a well.
Brad Herman, tight end and Jeff Tarpinian, linebacker joined Brookside Elementary School students in an effort to promote healthy lifestyles as a continuation of their Healthy Kids Week celebration.
On the morning of April 11, Patriots players participated in a school-wide pep rally in which they spoke about the important of exercise and eating healthy. The speech concluded with a question and answer segment and the players then joined 560 students in a flash mob dance. The students learned the dance leading up to the Healthy Kids Week as an example of fun and creative ways to exercise.
“We’re hoping this promotes better habits for children and families throughout the entire year…with fun and engaging activities,” said Milford’s Director of Nursing Judy Dagnese.
Students of all ages were able to participate in the weeklong events and different activities and objectives were established for each grade level from preschool to high school.
“The Milford Public Schools always embraces health and wellness,” Dagnese said, quoting one of the district goals. “This week we get to show that off.”
