‘We do not want it any other way’: USF baseball ready to roll after rain breaks game on Sunday

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – The baseball team at the University of South Florida has half a game and potentially another game to defeat the University of South Alabama and advance to the Super Regionals for the first time in program history. The Bulls rolled over the University of Florida and the University of Miami in the first two games of the Gainesville Regional.

The first game between the Bulls and Jaguars actually started on Sunday, but was postponed at the bottom of the fifth round due to the weather. The Bulls are currently running the Jaguars with four races.

Billy Mohl, baseball coach at the University of South Florida, answered a question about the delays that stopped the first two games of the tournament on Sunday morning.

“Our guys are used to being late all year whether it’s between the double heading, whether it’s the airport, whether it’s raining, so they have been tested and the weather has not affected us at all,” said Mohl. “They just want to get out and play.”

He commented in particular on the rain delay that interrupted the match against the University of Miami on Saturday.

“We were joking about it just when it hit,” Mohl said. We said, “This is exactly what the Bulls are used to,” so the amount of things we’ve been through this year, with delays and travel and everything else, we’re just laughing at it at this point, and we would not want it on. any other way. ”

The Bulls will enter the box at 12.06 on Monday to continue the match against the Jaguars.
