Following Daniel Morissette’s recommendations, the last female baseball representative in Bécancour, Sabryna Duval Courey, and her father Dave Courey, decided to revive the program in the summer of 2021.
Even though they live in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, the new leaders are ready to sign up for time to give back to the women’s sport. Sabryna Duval Courey played baseball for ten years, she who was part of the Quebec team two years in a row, in addition to participating in the Quebec Games. She also studied at the Académie les Estacades in the baseball component sports studies.
For his part, his father has followed and trained him through all these years, and that is what makes them today want to share all their experience and knowledge with the daughters of Bécancour, Nicolet and the surrounding area.
“We are currently looking for girls of all ages who would like to play baseball and who enjoy the competition while having fun,” he explains.
“If you think you are one of the girls, you have to register so that you can start a crazy season with us. We look forward to rehearsing and seeing you on a ball field! We also invite girls to invite their friends to come and play, even if they have never set foot on a field. ”
Remember that Mr. Morissette and the same Courey had formed two women’s teams in 2017. Note that even the girls in Trois-Rivières are invited to participate in the program with a dropout to the Trois-Rivières association.
