The Texas Rangers place two in Baseball America’s top 10 prospect list for AA

Baseball America has its top 10 list for AA Central out, and Texas rangers placed a few prospects on the list.

Josh Jung, Rangers first round picked out Texas Tech in 2019, ranked 7th on the BA list, between Matt Brash and Nolan Gorman. Jung earned praise for his control of the strike zone and the ability to drive the ball up the middle.

Cole Winn, Rangers’ first-round pick in 2018, was ninth on the list. BA noted its four-pitch mix and excellent command. Winn was also recently named this year’s Central Central Pitcher by MLB.

Although Jung in the back half of the top 10 may be a little disappointing at first glance, the League was formerly known as the Texas League stacked this year – Bobby Witt, Jr., Julio Rodriguez and CJ Abrams were the top three on the BA list, and one can come up with a reasonable argument that these are the three best prospects in baseball. All three are consensus top 5-10 boys as it is.
