Fans will be able to enjoy an almost normal senior baseball season, with 18 games – compared to 24 normally – due to a later start created by the pandemic.
Board members met recently. Due to the new measures that will soon be in force in New Brunswick, Grand Falls will also be able to return to the league. Seven teams will therefore fight for top honor, including La Pocatière and Montmagny-L’Islet.
“We have a certain number of veterans and young people, the latter also playing this summer in Junior BB and the Junior Elite, in addition to a few players from Lévis. When it comes to young people, it gives a tighter leadership, but we have a competitive team that can compete with the others. We want to be at the top of the rankings, sums up Éric Miville.
The team is pleased with the response from the sponsors present. It will currently be able to accommodate up to 250 people at the stadium, which is sufficient for the regular season.
For the Montmagny-L’Islet club, we are still surfing for the surprise in their first season last summer. The team reached the semifinals, and the fans quickly began the adventure.
“Everyone comes back, we have a good team, we are taken seriously. It was a versatile surprise last year. This year, the goal is the championship, sums up Martin Guérette.
