Havana, June 29, (RHC). – A Cuban baseball team has just trained at the Latin American stadium in our capital for the tournament in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Cuba has won this championship 10 times, and gathered teams from port cities.

This tournament is in its sixteenth edition, and Cuba will make its debut on Saturday 1 July against a Curaçao team, Neptunus Familiestadion. Then the Cuban sample must be measured in Japan on July 2, in Taipei on July 3 and in the Netherlands on July 4.

The next day, all teams will take a break, and the 6 mark the start of the playoffs.

The Cuban team adapts experienced players along with young talents.

Vladimir Hernández, their leader, was optimistic in statements to the press.

“I think we have a lot of potential with men who have represented us in important tournaments and younger people who have stood out in the National Under-23 Championship.” he remarked.

The leader of the team that will defend the colors of Cuba in the Rotterdam baseball tournament claimed that Cuba wants to qualify for the Olympic Games in Tokyo and to create a good base for the fifth edition of the World Classic.
