The surprising baseball team of Artemisa and vice-champion Matanzas share second place in the first phase of Cuban baseball, after defeating their respective opponents.
Artemisa’s baseball players beat Holguins 4 points to 2 thanks to Osmel Fraga’s offense.
In turn, the players from Matanzas defeated 4 points against two of Las Tunas, supported by a great work from the pitcher Joel Suárez, Yasiel Santoya, Norel González and Jefferson Delgado.
Now Artemisa and Matanzas are tied for second in the national championship with a record of 10 wins and six losses, two games behind leader Ciego de Ávila (12-4), who won Granma 4 points to 3.
