The next baseball season is still a long way off. This did not prevent the Condors of Cégep Beauce-Appalaches from hiring a new trio coach.
Dominic Bolduc will take over as head coach. Former player of Diamants de Québec (2000-2001) and Terminal Night Club de Québec (2002-2009), Bolduc has been associated with the Blue Sox of Thetford Mines for the past decade.
CEO and head coach, he won the Quebec Major League Baseball (LBMQ) title with Thetford on seven occasions (2012-2016, 2018-2019). Dominic Bolduc has also held the head coach position three times at the Canadian Senior Championships.
Within Condors, David Métivier and Jimmy Montembeault will serve as assistant coaches.
Métivier, a native of Saint-Georges, played as a junior pitcher with Diamants de Québec, Voyageurs de Saguenay, Black Knights de Saint-Georges and Alouettes de Charlesbourg.
Jimmy Montembeault has led La Relève Baseball Academy, Compagnons de Cartier, Baseball 360 and Charlesbourg Alouettes. As a receiver and third baseman, the latter played at senior level with the Thetford Mines Blue Sox and Beauce Jarrets Noirs.
“We are proud to have got these three coaches. Their experiences as emeritus players, their contacts, their organization and their attitude make them key players in the success of our team and the development of the students who participate in it, says Jean-Philippe Vachon, Deputy Director of Studies, Programs and Student Life at Cégep Beauce -Appalaches.
The Condors Baseball Club is the only college-level baseball club in the Quebec City, Chaudière-Appalaches and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions.
