This Wednesday, the Major League Baseball (MLB) has decided to integrate the achievements achieved between 1920 and 1948 in several championships called “Negro League” and almost open to African American players.
In its press release, the MLB declared to wish “corrects a long-standing oversight of the game’s history by raising the black leagues to the rank of the sport on the centenary of the foundation.”
7 championships will now have official major league status. The opportunity to recognize the careers of their greatest masters. These leagues have actually produced 35 Hall of Fame members, including Oscar Charleston, Cool Papa Bell, Satchell Paige and Josh gibson.
