Like many North American sports, baseball is played in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon. All it takes is nine players, a bat, gloves, a ball, bases and helmets to make the perfect baseball team.

In the 1980s, a group of friends had the idea of ​​setting up a team and training regularly behind the cultural and sports center in Saint-Pierre. The enthusiasm for this sport is then so important that more teams are created.

In August 1987, the first baseball tournament took place on the Langlade dune. The success was such that a new edition took place in July 1988 in the presence of ten teams, of which two were women. Among them we find the Paturel frères team and the Saint-Pierre Animation team.
