Pitch : what is this series?
Released in 2016 in the United States, Pitch has only one season of ten episodes. This American series filmed in San Diego, California brings together the cast in particular Mark-Paul Gosselaar (aka Zack i Saved by Bell), Mo McRae (Sons of Anarchy, First murder…), Meagan Holder, Tim jo, Mark Consuelos (New York Special Unit, Hiram Lodge i Riverdale…), Dan Lauria (father in Favorite years) and Ali larter (Heroes, Legends…). Created by Rick Singer and Dan Fogelman, this series was produced in collaboration with Major League Baseball, which gave the production unique access to team logos, stadiums and more.
Pitch is it based on a true story?
Pitch is strictly speaking not inspired by a true story, for so far there has never been a woman who joined Major League Baseball in the United States. However, reality is not so far from fiction. There have been several precedents for women approaching this story. In 2015, at the age of 16, Melissa Mayeux became the first woman to be shortlisted to join a Major League Baseball team. As for Kelsie Whitmore and Stacy Piagno, they joined the Sonoma Stompers team in 2016. The reality is definitely not far from joining the fiction …
