Facts took place on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the La Boussole home in Lens, i Pas-de-Calais. Heavy drunk man assaulted homeless man with baseball bat. The respondent was arrested by the police.
The young man was arrested
It was around 5pm that it all started. Two residents were on their way home and were assaulted on their way by a drunk person. The latter managed to steal the phone of one of the two victims. He reappeared a few minutes later, in front of the premises on Route de Lille.
Again, he attacked a resident and stole his smartphone. Only a homeless man intervened and punched the accused in the face. Then he went to help the victim who had just picked up the phone.
The 23-year-old abuser took the opportunity to pull out a baseball bat and used it to knock him down. He continued to hit him four times on the ground. Fortunately, the police and fire brigade were meanwhile notified and managed to intervene to avoid the tragedy.
The young man was arrested not far from his home. He is also homeless and has been seen on Wingles before. The sister’s home was searched and one of two phones was found. The individual went to an instant performance this Friday the 22nd. January at the court in Béthune.
