On Monday 1 February, around 11.30 pm, a police patrol in Lille arrested two men in the street. The first was in the car and tried to escape the second. The latter ran after him with a baseball bat in hand.
At first glance, when the Lille police saw the scene, everything was clear. The man in the car and moving at high speed became the victim. As for the one who ran behind, bat in hand, he was the attacker. But it was not that simple.
When the other men are questioned, the other explains that he had started hunting for the first one because he had just damaged his car, probably to steal it. With this new information, it changes the game. But to confirm these statements, the police went there to gather evidence. Result, everything is true!

A completely different story
Whoever appeared to be the victim was therefore guilty in this case. The 37-year-old admitted the facts. He was known to the police and will have to answer for his actions in court.
In the end, neither of the two men was fined for not respecting the curfew. A detail that some police officers would not have missed.
