In Division 1, Rochelais loses its classification match against Montigny-le-Bretonneux, but the reserve team reaches D2 for the first time
On October 23 and 24, the Boucaniers were in Montigny-le-Bretonneux for the final classification matches. After the meetings in Port-Neuf, where the two teams were back to back, it was necessary to win two games to capture 5th place in D1. Rochelais lost twice (5-3, 6-2) and therefore finished in 6th place, out of 12 clubs, as was the case during the first two seasons among the baseball elite. Note that the herd of French clubs are still chasing the Rouen Huskies, without being able to catch them. The Normans have won their 16th French title in the last seventeen seasons. They defeated the Templars of Sénart after the 5th match (4-1 in the decisive meeting).
Layer B proceeds to D2
But the week is still a great success for Pascal Régnier’s club. The Boucaniers B team, which played at the regional level, won the jump to D2 against La Guerche-de-Bretagne. Maritime reservists thus join the second tier of the national hierarchy for the first time. The match was close since it was only in the last match to know the winner (6-2).
