Stephen Young threw a three-hit shutout with seven strikes and no trips to lead top-seeded Middlesex to a 6-0 victory over eighth-seeded South Hunterdon in the quarterfinals of Central Jersey, Group 1 tournament, in Middlesex.

Middlesex (17-4) hosts the 12th seeded Florence in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Robert Ulmer went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and one race, while Ryan Vollmer finished 3-for-3 with one RBI and two races. Avery West and Anthony Long also had two hits each for Middlesex.

Ethan Sutton, Jackson Kilmer and Dew Zalescik each played their hit for South Hunterdon (11-10).
