Baseball Laval has a satisfying record of a very special season

In April last year, when the first wave of COVID-19 was in full swing, there were several doubts about the possibilities of playing a baseball season in 2020. Nevertheless, young people were impatient to step on the baseball fields.

In April, a survey among parents revealed that at least 75% of them intended to register their child in baseball this summer, even with sanitary measures. Finally, we had a sign-up rate of 93%, one of the best in Quebec. Thanks to the work of our volunteers and the proactivity of our Federation, we were able to have a season in 2020. We can therefore say to ourselves: the mission completed! »Baseball Laval President Christian Cyr.

The five associations that make up Baseball Laval and the Tornades de Laval organization (women’s baseball) had little time to organize registrations, hold selection camps and form teams.

In addition, each team had to take into account the constraints and the various measures that had to be implemented to limit the risk of spreading COVID-19.

We have not identified any outbreaks of COVID-19 during the season, and I would like to thank the coaches and especially the people assigned to the application of the measures, our famous Madame and Monsieur Net. Our young people were also disciplined, which made a difference », Added to Christian Cyr.

In a 20th year, this event will be hosted by Jean Allard, a master of ceremonies who is very well known by sports associations.

We will host a pre-recorded gala, and gift certificates will be sent to the winners. We wanted to thank the craftsmen for this very special season. With the current situation, we want to smile at our players, players, coaches, officials and volunteers and remind them of the good times of an extraordinary season. », Closed Christian Cyr.
