A-state sets baseball plan | Sport

JONESBORO – Three opponents from the Southeastern Conference are on Arkansas State’s 2021 baseball schedule along with a three-game series in Oklahoma.

The Red Wolves will play Arkansas for the first time when they travel to Fayetteville on May 11. ASU will also travel to Ole Miss twice and have a single midweek game against Mississippi State.

ASU’s schedule also includes 20 home games.

“College baseball schedules across the country have a different look this year,” ASU head coach Tommy Raffo said. “We were able to navigate through several conference decisions, and with the help of our administration, we were able to put together a very good and competitive schedule for our club.”

The Red Wolves open at Tomlinson Stadium with a three-game series against Missouri State (February 19-21). ASU travels to Ole Miss (February 23) before returning home to host Tennessee-Martin (February 26-28).

The Red Wolves open in March at Tomlinson Stadium with a midweek competition against Murray State on March 2.

The squad will hit the road for a 13-game stint from Abilene Christian (March 5-7) before traveling to Oklahoma (March 12-14).

A-State opens Sun Belt Conference games in Appalachian State March 19-21. The Red Wolves will round out March with Murray State (March 23) and a three-game non-conference series in Illinois State (March 26-28).

A-State begins April at Tomlinson Stadium with Arkansas-Little Rock (April 1-2), followed by a competition against Central Arkansas on April 6.

The Red Wolves will continue their Sun Belt campaign as they travel to Louisiana-Lafayette (April 9-11) before visiting the state of Mississippi (April 13). ASU returns home April 16-18 for a series of three games with Texas-Arlington before traveling to the UCA (April 20).

ASU travels to Texas State 23-25. April, and then visits Austin Peay (April 30, May 1-2) and Ole Miss (May 4).

The Red Wolves remain at home May 7-9 to host Georgia Southern before heading to Arkansas for the first time in program history.

ASU will end Sun Belt road action with a three-game series on Troy (May 14-16) and close SBC action against Louisiana-Monroe on May 20-22. May at Tomlinson Stadium.
