(Via the New York Knicks) - NEW YORK – The New York Knickerbockers and the Garden of Dreams Foundation (GDF) host the annual “Garden of Dreams Awareness Night” during tomorrow night’s Knicks game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers. The night will showcase the special children and organizations serviced by the foundation.
Children from GDF partner organizations, WHEDCo., Children’s Aid Society (CAS) and SCO Family of Services will attend player warm-ups and then participate in the fan tunnel and the starting lineup “High Five Line” on the court. The national anthem will be sung by Wounded Warrior Project’s BrittneyAnn Accetta (13) followed by a ceremonial opening jump ball with children of the NYPD. The in-arena announcer and MSG Network broadcast teams will also be joined by children from GDF partner organizations.
Throughout the night, Knicks entertainment acts will incorporate honorary members from GDF, including the Knicks City Dancers. At halftime, artist David Garibaldi, a “performance painter,” will create an exclusive piece of Knicks guard Jeremy Lin inspired artwork at center court. This 7×7 foot piece will be constructed to music in what the artist describes as “a process that is captivating in its kineticism, raising the act of painting to performance art in its own right.” The piece created for the crowd will later be auctioned to benefit both the Garden of Dreams Foundation and Jeremy Lin Foundation on the Steiner Sports website: http://auction.steinersports.com.
