HOUSTON — The Houston Astros rang in the holidays on Nov. 12 by throwing an ASTROrdinary Clubhouse Christmas party for 50 first, second and third-graders from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. In attendance were outfileder Jason Bourgeois, third baseman Chris Johnson, catcher Humberto Quintero, first base coach Bobby Meacham - who all dressed as elves - and pitching coach Doug Brocail, who dressed as Santa.
After the kids took a behind-the-scenes tour of the Astros’ clubhouse, they all gathered in the team dressing area to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas. After the movie, the group enjoyed dinner in the Diamond Club. Children were able to receive autographs and take photos with Santa and the elves. Each child also received their very own iPod shuffle, iTunes gift card and goodies courtesy of the Astros.
