Tuesday will be a big day at Nationals Park, as around 5,000 fans are expected to go in and watch the game with masks on, sitting at a safe social distance, in Belgium.
Business owners, bartenders and neighbors are happy about the noise.
Tyler Platt is the bartender at the Mission Navy Yard restaurant near the park, one of many businesses ready for the opening day.
“I’m personally very excited,” Platt said. “COVID has been very tough, and it gives a little normality back to everything, and it’s great for business … not just Mission, but everything in the area.”
Some employees at bars and restaurants were bumbled when the opening day was postponed last Thursday, but Tuesday is a new day.
Restaurants like Mission Navy Yard offer specials with beers, margaritas and nachos.
“It’s nice to have Nats restarted because it’s almost back to normal,” said fan Annie Stefanec. COVID. “
Nats officials will remind the audience to stay home if you have a fever, shortness of breath or cough, and otherwise like the game.
