Flames host benefit night

Over $100,000 was raised by the Calgary Flames Ambassadors’ Celebrity Roast featuring John Forzani, with the money going towards the Flames Foundation for Life and the Forzani Foundation.

John Forzani, the Forzani Group creator, Calgary Stampeders co-owner and former Calgary Stampeders player, kindly took the hot seat in front of 400 plus ticket holders, sponsors, Flames and Stamps alumni and numerous donors to provide entertainment for the evening.

The event, which took place on November 29th at the Scotiabank Saddledome, included live roasts from Ken King, Basil Bark, and John Hufnagel with video roasts from Doug Mitchell, Bob Sartor, Tony Spoletini and Joe Forzani and featured Billy Powers as the Master of Ceremonies.

The Flames Ambassadors’ Celebrity Roasts have now raised over $1.35 million in nine years. Former roastees include: Craig Conroy, Jim Kinnear, Lanny McDonald, Jim Peplinski, Ken King, Harley Hotchkiss, Darryl Sutter and Doc and BJ Seaman.

The Forzani Foundation supports the promotion of physical fitness, health and wellness, the prevention and relief of sickness and disability and the promotion of participation and education in sports.

The Flames Foundation for Life continues to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.
