Spotlight: Wood Family Foundation

Kerry Wood was an All-Star on the field and following his retirement from Major League Baseball, he continues to be one off the field.

The Wood Family Foundation was founded in June 2011 by Kerry Wood and his wife, Sarah.  The goal of the foundation is to improve the lives of children in and around Chicago.  They inspire others to join them in their efforts to provide children with necessary resources to succeed.

During the year, the foundation hosts numerous charity events.  On December 14th, Wood will be at Nash Elementary School in Chicago.  And, following the  New Year, he will be hosting “Woody’s Winter Warm-Up” at Harry Caray’s Tavern on Navy Pier.  The event is scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2013.  Last year, “Woody’s Winter Warm-Up raised over $85,000.  For tickets to this event, please click here.
