Bobcats to honor Military

The Charlotte Bobcats will recognize and celebrate heroes with every home game played on a Saturday with Military Appreciation Night.  The season long military appreciation will be highlighted on December 8th when the Bobcats host the San Antonio Spurs.

“Like everyone in our country, we feel it is vital to show our gratitude to the active and retired members of our military for everything that they currently do and have done for us,” Whitfield said. “This program is one small way our organization can recognize and thank them for their service, and we encourage our fans to do the same.”

A special recognition for the members of the military and a large U.S. flag at center court during the National Anthem will take place at every Saturday home game. The December 8th Military Appreciation Night will include a special National Anthem, military-themed game entertainment, recognition for military members and an opportunity for military personnel to shoot a free throw on the floor after the game. Camouflage Bobcats hats will be given to military members and their families, as well as other group outings, who purchase tickets online for the game.

Any active or retired member of the military can visit to purchase tickets priced as low as $35 in the 100 level or for $15 anywhere in the 200 level as part of Military Appreciation Night. The general public can visit the same site and purchase a package that includes tickets to be distributed to military members and their families by the USO of North Carolina, along with a financial donation to the USO of North Carolina.
