Season openers always bring anticipation and large crowds, but the Charlotte Bobcats Sports & Entertainment President and COO Fred Whitfield announced a whole new level of excitement for the NBA team and fans. The organization has been preparing for the season opener tonight against the Indiana Pacers with a “Paint the Town” campaign presented by Wells Fargo.
The week’s festivities began with a “Big is Back” NBA Tipoff Party hosted by Power 98’s DJ Incognito on Tuesday, October 30. Bobcats rookies Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeffery Taylor were in attendance signing autographs and taking pictures with fans. The event included the airing of the NBA’s season-opener Celtics vs. Heat game in addition to giveaways, food and drink specials.
All week long Rufus and the Lady Cats have been visiting several Wells Fargo branches and LYNX light rail stations with Bobcats giveaways in hand.
The festivities continue on Friday afternoon as the EpiCenter will host a Pregame party complete with live broadcasts from Power 98 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. and Kiss 95.1 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. Be sure and stop by the party for your chance to win tickets and souvenir giveaways and play games before heading over to Trade Street Plaza at the Time Warner Cable Arena at 5:00 p.m. as a beer garden, band and tailgating games awaits fans. The Center City Green, across from Fifth Street, will be hosting a gaming truck, sport court with hoop and inflatable games for kids.
Getting to the game early could win lucky fans some Bobcats gear as the first 10,000 fans to enter the Time Warner Cable Arena for Friday’s opener will revieve a Bobcats Tougher Faster Stronger long sleeve T-shirt presented by Lowe’s. All fans can look forward to receiving 50% off concessions items (excluding liquor) during Friday’s season-opener as well. To top it off, the first 100 fans to spend at least $150 in the re-opened Team Store will receive a free pair of Jordan Brand shoes!
Tickets to the game start at just $10 and can be purchased at the Time Warner Cable Arena box office, online at bobcats.com or ticketmaster.com, or via phone at 1-800-4-NBA-TIX.
Bobcats Sports & Entertainment owns the Charlotte Bobcats and operates Charlotte’s Time Warner Cable Arena.
