(Via the Vancouver Canucks) – Vancouver, B.C. (October 9, 2012) – Canucks Sports & Entertainment announced today that the front office staff will participate in their annual Live-2-Give day on October 11, 2012. In lieu of office hours, over 120 Canucks Sports & Entertainment staff members will participate in a number of different initiatives to aid 13 local charities and their pivotal work in the community.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Live-2-Give day program has provided the opportunity for the Canucks Sports & Entertainment employees and organization to expand their reach in the community. Employees are empowered to volunteer at a charity of their choice to give back to others in a meaningful way and to earn a greater appreciation of the needs and work being done by Lower Mainland charities and the people they affect.
“Canucks Sports & Entertainment is proud to once again host our annual Live-2-Give day,” said Victor de Bonis, Chief Operation Officer, Canucks Sports & Entertainment and Alternate Governor, NHL. “Since the inception of this initiative, both our staff and charities have been very excited to participate together and make such a positive impact in our community. It is a priority for us to give back to our community, which has given us so much support over the years.”
Canucks Sports & Entertainment’s annual Live-2-Give day was first introduced in 2008. Over the years of the event, the organization has worked with 22 charities and donated over 3500 hours of time. Of the 13 charities involved this year, three are directly supported by the Canucks for Kids Fund: Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, Canucks Autism Network and Canucks Family Education Centre.
