Tebow donates to Pop Warner League

It’s hard to turn on television and not hear anything about Tim Tebow. Watching a sports show without a mention of the current New York Jets quarterback is few and far between over the past several months. Now, Tebow mania has made it’s way into a new venue: the Pop Warner Football League.

In Jacksonville, the Tim Tebow Foundation has partnered with the Lakeshore Athletic Association to donate 300 new Nike jerseys, a gift that was received with utmost gratitude.

Tebow got his start playing football in the Association before moving on to Nease High School and eventually the University of Florida. According to the Foundation’s website, they strive to bring faith, hope, and love to those who need a brighter day.

It would appear as though the sun is shining plenty bright for the folks at Lakeshore.

“We’re proud to be associated with the start of such an amazing football career. Tim is such a great role model for these players and we are honored to be able to recognize him in this way. His legacy will remain an inspiration to this Association for generations to come,” said Association president AJ Joyner.

Tebow won two NCAA national championships at the University of Florida as well as the 2007 Heisman Trophy. To this day he is considered one of the greatest college football players of all time.

To hundreds of people in northeast Florida, he’s also one of the greatest philanthropists.
