Today, Washington Nationals’ players Rick Ankiel (and wife) and Ross Detwiler (and fiance) joined the Capital Area Food Bank to help prepare lunch bags for the Weekend Bag Program. The program provides over 1,000 children with food each week, due to the fact that they don’t have access to the school lunches during the summer.
You gotta hand it to Rick and Ross (and their wonderful ladies). Today, they stepped up and made a big difference in the community. Kudos, fellas! For pictures from the event, check out the Food Bank’s Facebook page. It looks like the guys had a blast and got put to work!
