Pacers reading tour set to begin

The Indiana Pacers are set to begin their inaugural summer reading tour.  Tours will be held at various libraries throughout the months of June and July.  Full information below.

(Via Indiana Pacers) – INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 8, 2012) - The Indiana Pacers will begin their inaugural Pacers Summer Reading Tour at select Marion County branch libraries in mid June. The program, produced in partnership with the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library’s own summer reading program, will tip off Wednesday, June 13 at two separate locations – the Warren Branch on East 21st St., and the Info Zone in the Children’s Museum on North Meridian St.  Additionally, Pacers Foundation has made a contribution of $10,000 to the library’s summer reading campaign.

The Pacers tour coincides with the Library’s eight-week Summer Reading Program, which provides a fun and rewarding way for children to maintain their reading habit and improve reading skills during the summer months. In all, the Pacers Reading Tour will run from June 13 through July 23.

As part of the Summer Reading Tour, the Pacers Fan Van will visit Marion County Branch Libraries for a one-hour Reading TimeOut.  Guest readers, including members of the Indiana Pacemates and the Pacers All-Star Reading Team, will share their favorite children’s stories with those in attendance.  Each child on hand will receive a Pacers “Reading is Fun” poster featuring Boomer, the Pacers mascot.  In addition, following each Reading TimeOut, visitors to the branch library will have the opportunity to spin the Pacers Prize Wheel for their chance at winning a variety of Pacers prizes.
